All night light
In the cool of the house Chan Sopheap (29 years), who works as a cleaner, is rocking her two months old son in the hammock. Her daughter of two sits with Dad (38) on the big bed beside the hammock.

"When we received the MoonLight I was very happy, but I was not sure how to use it. Fortunately this proved to be very easy. Because my baby is still little, I use the MoonLight all night. To see if there are no mosquitoes with the baby, to change diapers, to feed him. I also use it when I visit my mother or friends at nighttime. "

It gives very bright light which is very useful. It is also possible to dim the light. In this dimmed mode, we can use the lantern all night. Even in the wet season, when there is less sun, we can charge the MoonLight during the day and use it all night. That saves us a lot of money. The MoonLight is also better for our health. Before I used a kerosene lamp but that is not necessary any more. And you can put the MoonLight anywhere: you need not fear that the house catches fire if the MoonLight falls over. Even my daughter can use it.«

No more worries about fire
Calian Malis (30) lives with her husband and children on a busy dirt road in Kandal. Her husband (38) is a policeman; Calian has a small shop at home. From six am to seven pm she sells customers from the neighbourhood anything and everything. From noodles, beer and slippers to vegetables, bread and shampoo. Meanwhile her children - eleven, eight and seven years old - rush in and out.

“Now I know what the MoonLight is and that it is very easy to use, I am very happy I have one. I use it at the shop for changing money when it is dark. When my customers first saw the MoonLight, they made jokes. ‘Why is your heart outside your body?’, they asked. I explained that it was a lamp on solar power and they were surprised. In our village people only knew the large solar panels of solar home systems. Some now ask whether they could buy it in my shop. I would like that, though it is difficult business in this poor neighborhood.”

"Because my family helped with the testing, I received a second MoonLight. That really is convenient, because now I can use the MoonLight at the store while the children have another MoonLight to be able to shower, go to the toilet, see each other. Previously they used a kerosene lamp and I was always worrying about things catching fire. In this regard, the MoonLight changed my life."

Convenient for daily use

"I charge the MoonLight every morning and use it every evening. I don't waste money on batteries for a flashlight anymore. The MoonLight is of good quality andit is very convenient. We use it for different things: it is a lamp with dinnert, a flashlight when we go to the bathroom, I use it when tending chickens or when I go to the fields at night."

"Sometimes
at night the mice eat rice from the field. To get rid of them, I use an electric wire attached to a car battery, to killthe mice. Previously I used a flashlight to be able to see, now I can hang the MoonLight around my neck. Other farmers from the neighborhood also do this and when we wait to catch the mice, we sit together and talk. To be able to see each other, we hang the lantern on a tree. When my neighbors saw the MoonLight for the first time, they thought it was an ordinary flashlight. But I explained that it was a lamp on solar power. First they were surprised, now they themselves would like to buy a MoonLight.
