Kamworks Utility is a subsidiary company of Kamworks, established by Dutch solar engineers in 2006. While implementing off-grid solar and residential solar installations, Kamworks was the first Cambodian solar company to use its European expertise in order to implement grid-connected solar projects.
Kamworks now has the longest track record in designing, constructing, installing, operating, and maintaining grid-connected solar projects in Cambodia. Kamworks Utility aims to make clean energy affordable for all Cambodians.
Kamworks has designed, installed, and is now operating a rooftop solar generation system on SilverTown Metropolitan, a residential tower located in Phnom Penh’s BKK1 neighbourhood. The tower was opened in 2014 and consists of 110 units, with a total floor area of 1,097 square meters. The rooftop solar project provides clean, reliable, and competitively priced electricity to for all customers in the Silvertown tower. Kamworks’ system reduces peak electricity demand while the facility is still connected to the electricity grid. Silvertown Metropolitan is owned and managed by FURI-NAKI Investments.
Technical specifications: 58 kWp, Inverter type SMA mini Central
Date of project operation: March 2017
Kamworks is developing a rooftop solar generation system consisting of over 10,000 solar PV panels for the state-of-the-art brewing and bottling facility of Khmer Beverages, Co. The rooftop solar system will have a capacity of approximately 4 MW, making it the largest deployment of an industrial solar panel array in Cambodia to date.
Khmer Beverages is nearing completion of an expansion of its production facility, at an estimated additional investment of $120M. The expansion adds new equipment for producing both beer and non-alcoholic beverages, and will more than double the facility’s production capacity.
