The project, which is funded by the WorldBank, offers rural Cambodians the opportunity to buy a solar system on credit. Kamworks and Sunlabob, a leading solar energy company from Laos, are cooperating for this project. For the purpose of this project, the current import tax of 7 to 15% on solar energy products will be temporarily lifted. Cambodia’s solar energy companies hope that the import tax exemption on solar energy products can be made permanent.
