During 20 days in May, Kamworks has successfully field tested the MoonLight solar LED light with rural families in Cambodia. The MoonLight is a remarkable product, developed for the rural market by Kamworks on a shoestring budget. Last year 4 students industrial design from Delft University came to Cambodia to design a solar LED light for for Kamworks  aimed at the rural population. They took a participatory approach and spent much time with Cambodian families without electricity to find out their lighting needs. The result was a remarkebly simple but effective solar LED light, that can be used inside and outdoors and has a strap to hang it from one of the many nails, Cambodians have in their houses for this purpose. The MoonLight comes with a small solar panel and provides 3 hours of bright light, combined with 7 hours of dimmed light to make it last through the night.
