Kerosene lamps are traditionally used for lighting in rural households without electricity. The MoonLight is a solar powered lantern for domestic use and offers a safe, affordable and ‘green’ solution. It offers brighter light, insensitive to wind and can pay for itself within a year compared to the price of kerosene.
The MoonLight comes with a small pole-mounted solar panel to charge its internal battery during the day for use at night at 3 different light intensity levels. At the highest setting the MoonLight offers approximately 3 – 4 hours of bright light for work, reading and studying. Otherwise choose for 4 – 6 hours of medium light while eating and socializing, or use low light for the entire night for orientation and security. A convenient strap allows the user to wear the MoonLight around the neck or suspend it above the area where light is most needed.
The Moonlight can be purchased from a Kamworks retailer and is available for export. As from the 20th of december 2012 we lowered the retail price of the MoonLight. It is now available for only 15,- US Dollar in Cambodia.
