Awareness raising
Cambodia has plenty of sunshine what makes it an interesting solution for energy in rural areas. A problem is only to make people understand what the sun can do for them. Knowledge about solar energy is not well spread in Cambodia. To overcome this barrier we started a campaign to raise awareness.
Our awareness raising program mainly consists of a school campaign. Kamworks staff and local volunteers visited many schools to reach rural families through their children.
In-house we developed ways to communicate our message with children. This was a student project superbly done by Rik. Our unique solar game teaches children about solar energy.
The game (and the rules) can be downloaded. Let us know if you are interested in participating in our project.

Solar sunflower
Part of the school campaign is the making the solar sun flower. Children get a kit and cut out their own flower and leaves. They glue the small panel on and connect this to a small engine on the back side. When they hold their sun flower in the sun they discover that is starts spinning. While it stops again in the shadow. A fun and easy way to understand the power of the sun.
